HSBC

Worked on the HSBC design standards and tooling, but in my second spell at AnalogFolk I was much more involved in creating briefs, gathering research, writing proposals, leading discovery and feedback sessions across multiple business lines, drafting, writing and producing the final standards.

During this time I also researched into the transition from Sketch to Figma and assessed benefits and impacts across HSBC’s ways of working. I created Figma based responsive and mobile toolkits and implemented foundational design tokens.

In my first spell working for AnalogFolk with the Digital Design department within HSBC we set about aligning and creating new standards where needed across both the app and responsive platforms for Retail and Corporate banking.

Starting from a foundational level to define grids, typography, spacing, colour and icons we worked with leads from across HSBC in regular weekly reviews to help define consistent elements and patterns within the bank. Template designs were used to test the standards before releasing to the work streams for feedback.

The global standards were checked for compliance with AA levels of accessibility before being published online into a new design hub for all designers to access. To enable easy adoption we produced atomic based sketch toolkits and libraries tailored to the different business lines and sub brands.
